Sedge — Privacy Policy

Sedge is a net-worth and spending tracker for the EU. This policy explains, plainly, what
happens to your data. The short version: it stays on your device, and we never see it.
What we collect
Nothing. Sedge has no accounts, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising and
no third-party SDKs. We do not operate a server that receives your financial data, and we have
no ability to read it.
Where your data lives
Everything you enter or import — account names, balances, transactions and categories — is
written to a single file in Sedge’s private storage on your device. That file uses iOS complete
file protection, so it is encrypted at rest and unreadable while your device is locked. It is
never transmitted anywhere.
If you have iCloud Backup switched on, iOS may include Sedge’s storage in your device backup.
That backup is governed by Apple’s privacy policy, not ours.
Exchange rates
To convert foreign balances into euro, Sedge downloads the European Central Bank’s daily
reference rates from ecb.europa.eu. This is a public file. The request contains no
personal data and nothing about your accounts, balances or transactions — it is the same file
every user of the app fetches.
Statement import
CSV and PDF statements you import are read on your device and never uploaded. Sedge does not
retain the original file.
Bank connections
Automatic bank connections are not enabled in this version of Sedge. If and when they are
switched on, this policy will be updated before release to describe exactly what is transmitted
and to whom. Sedge is read-only by design and will never be able to move money.
Face ID and Touch ID
If you enable the app lock, authentication is performed by iOS. Sedge receives only a
success-or-failure result. Your biometric data never leaves the Secure Enclave and is never
available to us.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have rights of access, portability and erasure. Because your data never
reaches us, you exercise them directly in the app:
• Access and portability — Settings › Export your data produces CSV files
and a complete JSON backup you can take anywhere.
• Erasure — Settings › Reset all data permanently deletes everything from
the device. We hold no copy, so there is nothing further to delete.
Children
Sedge is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be published here with a new
date before the change reaches the App Store.
